New Website Launch: The Sunbeam Clinic

I'm delighted to share that The Sunbeam Clinic is officially live! 🎉

This one's special to me, not just because of the finished site, but because of how we got there. Mia (Amelia Coutisson) and I met up in person three times over the course of this project, going through everything page by page, question by question. Somewhere in those meetings it stopped being "my designer built me a website" and became "I understand my website" - which is exactly the kind of client relationship I want to build.

Our first meeting was on 30th July, and the new site was live within a month. The final tweaks went in today, with Google Analytics and the Google Business Profile now sorted too — so it's not just live, it's properly set up to be found.

From a Basic Template to a Proper Digital Presence

Mia's previous site did a job, but it was built on a basic template with her old business name, Sunbeam Yoga and Homeopathy, which no longer reflected everything she offers. As she moves toward training in iridology alongside her existing yoga, homeopathy and magnetic analysis work, she needed a brand and a website that could grow with her, not box her in.

That's what a proper rebrand and rebuild gave her:

  • A new name and identity -The Sunbeam Clinic, with a domain and professional email to match (thesunbeamclinic.com / hello@thesunbeamclinic.com)

  • New logo design, favicon, social media profile images, and social link/share images — keeping Mia's original logo concept but adapting it for the new name, so the brand looks consistent everywhere it turns up, not just on the website itself

  • A complete website rebuild on Squarespace, covering every page from Home and About through to Therapies, Bookings, Prices & Timetable, Events, Gallery, Newsletter and Blog. We talked through a new booking system, but Mia's existing Calendly setup already worked well for her, so rather than replacing it, we simply embedded it straight into the new site

  • SEO built in from the ground up - proper page titles, meta descriptions and keyword structure, rather than bolted on afterwards

  • Compliance done properly - Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy and Terms and Conditions, plus careful attention to advertising standards rules around health and homeopathy claims, so the site protects Mia as much as it presents her well

  • A qualifications and credentials section that actually explains what RSHom, LCPH and her various yoga certifications mean to a visitor who's never heard of them

  • Real testimonials, pulled together from Google and Facebook reviews rather than generic placeholder quotes

  • Digitised patient forms, so Mia can take new client details without paper admin

  • A blog section and email campaigns, set up separately through Squarespace, so Mia can keep clients updated on news without it eating into her busy schedule, and it still looks lovely doing it

  • Imaging done properly - from image selection through to alt text on every element, so the site performs for accessibility and search, not just how it looks

  • Ongoing SEO and Google visibility support - running live site checks to make sure everything keeps working, setting up Google Search Console, and getting the Google Business Profile in order, so the site keeps working long after launch day, not just on it

Know-How, Not Just a Website

What Mia said herself was that she got so much more from this process than she had from her last site, not just a nicer-looking result, but the actual know-how behind it. Understanding why a page is structured a certain way, why certain wording matters for compliance, why Google visibility isn't just luck, that's the difference between handing a business owner a finished product and actually setting them up to run it.

That's always been the aim with Shore Design Dorset: build something that looks right, works properly under the hood, and leaves the client more capable than they were before we started - not more dependent.

Congratulations, Mia

Huge congratulations to Mia on this launch. It's been a genuine pleasure working through the detail of this rebrand together, and it shows in the finished site.

Since going live, Mia's had a stream of messages from friends and clients she's shared it with, all saying how much they love the new site, and she keeps telling me the same thing herself: she loves it. Being part of the process from the start hasn't just given her a website she's happy with, it's given her one she's genuinely proud of.
