2. Services
Shore Design Dorset offers the following services:
Website design and build (primarily Squarespace, also WordPress, Wix, HubSpot and IONOS)
Graphic design and branding, including logo design
Print design, including leaflets, brochures, business cards and banners
Social media graphics, account setup and management
School Yearbooks and booklet design
Booking and scheduling system setup (e.g. Acuity Scheduling)
General administration, including emails, spreadsheets, letters, databases and Google Forms
The specific scope of work for a project will be agreed with the Client before work begins, whether by email, written quote, or informal agreement.
3. Fees and Payment
Our standard rate is £30 per hour, unless a fixed project price has been agreed in advance.
Quotes are estimates based on the scope discussed and may be revised if the scope changes.
A deposit is required before work begins: £50 for projects quoted at £500 or under, or £100 for projects quoted up to £1000.
Monthly payment plans are available on request — up to 3 months for smaller projects, or up to 6 months for larger projects.
Website hosting and domain registration costs are the responsibility of the Client and are billed separately by the relevant provider; they are not included in our hourly rate.
Invoices are issued on completion of a project, or at agreed milestones for larger projects.
Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed.
Late payment may result in a pause on further work until outstanding invoices are settled.
Any third-party costs (stock imagery, fonts, plugins, apps, subscriptions) will be agreed with the Client before purchase and passed on at cost.
4. Client Responsibilities
To keep projects moving efficiently, the Client agrees to:
Provide content, images, logos and other materials required for the project in a timely manner
Respond to requests for feedback, approval or information within a reasonable time
Ensure any content or materials supplied do not infringe third-party copyright or other rights
Provide accurate information relevant to the project
Delays caused by late provision of content or feedback may extend project timelines and are not the responsibility of Shore Design Dorset.
5. Delays and Project Pauses
Timely progress relies on the Client providing content, feedback and approvals promptly. Where a project is held up for a significant period due to a lack of response, content or approval from the Client, Shore Design Dorset reserves the right to prioritise other active clients and their deadlines during that time. Once the Client is ready to proceed, the project will be scheduled back in around current workload and availability, which may mean the original timeline can no longer be met. If a project remains inactive for more than 60 days with no response from the Client, it may be paused and archived. Restarting a paused project may require a revised quote to reflect current pricing and availability, and any work already completed up to that point remains chargeable.
6. Revisions and Approval
A reasonable number of revisions will be included as part of the agreed scope of work. Additional revisions beyond this, or changes requested after a project has been signed off as complete, may be chargeable at the standard hourly rate.
Once a Client approves a final design, website, or piece of content as complete, this is taken as sign-off. Further changes after sign-off will be treated as new work.
7. Post-Launch Support
Shore Design Dorset offers 14 days of free minor fixes following a website's launch, covering issues such as broken links, typos, or small styling adjustments. Any outstanding items from the original agreed scope will also be addressed during this time. This free period does not cover new pages, redesigned sections, added functionality, or other work beyond the original scope, which will be chargeable at the standard hourly rate. Ongoing paid maintenance is also available beyond the free period for clients who would like regular support, updates or changes; details can be agreed separately.
8. Intellectual Property and Ownership
Upon full payment, ownership of final delivered design files, website content and artwork created specifically for the Client transfers to the Client, unless otherwise agreed.
Shore Design Dorset retains the right to use completed work in its portfolio, website, and social media for promotional purposes, unless the Client requests otherwise in writing.
Any tools, templates, stock assets, fonts or third-party software used in the course of the work remain subject to their own respective licences.
Work remains the property of Shore Design Dorset until payment has been received in full.
9. Cancellation
Either party may cancel a project by giving written notice. In the event of cancellation:
The Client will be invoiced for all work completed up to the point of cancellation, calculated at the standard hourly rate
Any third-party costs already incurred on the Client's behalf (hosting, domains, licences) are non-refundable
Any deposit paid is non-refundable where work has already commenced.
10. Confidentiality
Any confidential information shared by the Client in the course of a project will be treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties, except where required to complete the agreed work or by law.
11. Communication
Shore Design Dorset welcomes feedback and is committed to resolving any concerns quickly and professionally. Clients are asked to raise any issues directly with Shore Design Dorset in the first instance, allowing a fair opportunity to respond and put things right, before posting publicly (including reviews or social media).
12. Limitation of Liability
Shore Design Dorset will carry out work with reasonable skill and care. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of websites or third-party platforms (such as Squarespace, WordPress, or hosting providers), and are not liable for issues arising from these platforms, from Client-supplied content, or from third-party services outside our control. Our liability in respect of any project is limited to the total fees paid by the Client for that project.
13. Data Protection
Any personal data provided by the Client will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection law (UK GDPR) and used only for the purposes of delivering the agreed services.
14. Changes to These Terms
Shore Design Dorset may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on request.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
